Heavy Duty 2" Receiver Type Trailer Hitch for all Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen models, W460, W461 and W463  from 1979 to 2018.

This Heavy Duty G-Wagen Trailer Hitch was designed for the W463 Models G550 , G55, G63 and G65 from 2013 to 2018, but will also fit all other Mercedes G Class model years from 1979 to 2018. It features the same 15mm thick mounting steel plate, as found on the current production W463A vehicles.

4x4 square models might need the additional customizations, please see hitch mount link below. 

It is rated for a max. Trailer Weight of 7000 lbs* with a max. Tongue Weight of 562 lbs.

*Please Note: Your Vehicle's max. Trailer Towing Rating may be less, refer to the owner's manual of your Mercedes G Class vehicle.

Please Note:

  • For G550 and G55 USA Models 2009 to 2013 with no factory hitch mounting provisions, please order the Heavy Duty Trailer Hitch VTS-7285, along with our G-Wagon Trailer Hitch Installation Mount VTS-7286. The Installation on these G Class vehicles (2009 - 2013) without the factory mounting provisions, requires welding the new hitch mount to the rear 90mm frame tube, and a cut-out of the existing fuel tank protection plate, to emulate the factory hitch install of the late type W463 vehicles (2013 to 2018).

Built as well as our G's, and a perfect fit

A massive thank you to Karl for putting the work in to develop and produce this unit. It's absolutely overbuilt and fits like a charm. I have fit to everything from early 461's to 463's. Hardware is included and if you have an imported G, a quick hop over to amazon for a Euro to US hitch wiring adapter and you're good to go. Thanks again, Karl & Patricia!

Perfect fit!

Straight out of the box, bolted directly on to the rear frame of my 1996 MB 230GE!

Quality Product

Product was well made and heavy duty. One spot on the hitch didn’t get fully coated, so it needed additional touch up and no installation instructions were included. Bolts are self locking and require massive amount of force to get on. You need an oversized 3/4 long arm break bar or compact impact wrench to get on, plus you must have a stubby 22mm closed end wrench to hold the bolt’’s nuts in place when bolting on. I have many automotive tools and have advanced tool skills, but this was a pain to put on even with a second set of skilled hands. In the end looks and function are superior to other hitches for older G-Wagons and worth the extra money IMO.

High Quality and Perfect Fit!

I have always wished my G had a normal trailer hitch. This hitch is very well made and easy to instal. Really nice that someone has made this as it is SO needed for the G! I am actually really surprised how well the G tows a trailer too. They even include a cool sticker that looks factory. Nobody would know this hitch isn’t factory from Mercedes.
